wo years ago I took on the challenge of editing a publication that constituted a space for the dissemination of social research, open to reflection and criticism, that is, a space for debate. This task would be entrusted to me at that time by the Rector of the University Colegio Mayor de Cundinamarca Miguel García Bustamante, who as maximum representative of the institution gave his endorsement to the final product, our magazine Tabula Rasa.
A year after having published its first issue and having raised all kinds of opinions and controversies over the course of the months, as well as the best comments from both national and international academics, I have the satisfaction of
deliver to the university community the second number of this publication. With this, I consider that I have fulfilled as editor and, simultaneously, I consider that we have fulfilled as a university with the first and most difficult stage: that of "starting".
