Part of an extensive dialogue and debate still in progress, this fragment focuses on three themes: the catastrophic balance between democracy and crisis, the relationship between philosophy and the present situation, and the future of radical politics in today's world. These issues are analyzed from the diverse but related points of view of both thinkers, in connection with the achievements and challenges of political transformation in Latin America, and with a common ambition: to recover the role of thought and the truth of anti-intellectualism that characterizes the current political and academic life, and explore the possible consequences and such recovery or distinction in the light of the activity of those who continue to fight in a disciplined and responsible way for a new future, not linked to the possibilities available in today's situation.
