If memory does not fail me, my first meeting with Jorge Eliécer Martínez took place in a doctoral course that I taught a few years ago in Manizales, coinciding with the reading of the doctoral thesis of Germán Muñoz. The then PhD student expressed his interest in the theoretical and conceptual journeys on youth, demonstrating a remarkable knowledge of the contributions of critical theories, in particular of some French thinkers - such as Foucault - and Italians - as Negri- who do not usually cite in the canonical art states about youth, because of their peripheral and non-central contributions in this field. I remember that he told me about the book Empire, by Negri, which I did not know, and he handed me a digital copy that, I confess, I still have among my pending readings, although the theme of the empire of youth, as a metaphor for understanding implosion -Explosion of contemporary youth movements, and their conquests of social, commercial, age, symbolic, increasingly broad territories, is one of my current interests, as the colleagues of the CLACSO Working Group know about the new political practices of the young people, of which Martínez Posada is a part, and the friends of the Manizales doctorate, in whose creative humus his work has germinated and flourished.
